Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Game Review: Climbing Standings / Game Day: Canes Await Fresh off a decisive win over the Colorado Avalanche, the Vancouver Canucks will look to stretch their winning streak to five games and pick up a third straight victory at home when they face the hot Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night at Rogers Arena.

Eddie Lack needs to play tonight.

Luongo's Eddie Lack of concentration at times during the game is very worrisome. I said at 2 minutes left, Luongo always gives up shutouts late... I think it's something that needs to be addressed and not just shrugged off as "at least we got the 2 points".

I think it's the team stops playing.there are so many instances where the team gives up a goal late when it could shut out the opposition.

That said,I think if anyone can get the Nux to play wire to wire it's torts.

The team often is moving slow before December and both the team and Luongo pick it up and start to roll. They've won two president's trophiesthat way.

That should have been an EASY save for Luongo - nothing to do with the team IMO.

Missing the game tonight.

Amazing that the team scored 3 and won without the Sedins getting a point, that's what contending teams do(more consistently than the Canucks have in recent history). I still like these lines the best:

22-33-9
7-25-17
20-15-36(Schroeder as 3LC when he's back)
29-13-32

- Schroeder as 3LC when he's back, he and Hansen played well together last year

- Richardson moves down to 4LC where he's rock solid, I would love to see a Archibald-Richardson-Weise 4th line(yes, I like Weise more this year)

- Still like Archibald and would like to see him get a few games over Sestito against teams that don't have a heavyweight or aren't as physical

- Dalpe just isn't going to fit in on the 4th line

- Second PP unit needs a different forward group, I'd play Kassian and Booth over Higgins and Hansen, with Santorelli.

I wouldn't mess with the 2nd line as is. Also, disagree about Schroeder at C, especially #3 which carries so many defensive responsibilities. It's too much to ask a smaller guy to cover the likes of Kopitar, Thornton etc. Play Schroeder on the wing and take advantage of his strengths.

From the comments I've seen over at HF(people who watched him regularly as a top 6 forward in the AHL), a lot of people say he's more effective as a center than a winger. Schroeder is still awhile away anyways, I bet the lines get mixed up before he returns anyways unless that 2nd line really is legit. I think we have to come to the realization that outside of Kesler(who's been more effective offensively when playing with a center) that we don't really have a shutdown center on the roster. Torts is gonna have to play the Sedins against top lines against good teams and in the playoffs(if they make it).

I'm not against playing Schroeder with Kesler though. But I really would like to see Booth with Santorelli.

He loses 6-8 shutouts a year in the last 5 minutes of the game.

I doubt it's that high of a number, but he must be good for 3-5 a year, but it happens to all goalies from time to time.

Give it up, shiddy -- Schneider's gone...and won't be back. The problems with the Canucks this season so far have not been Luongo-based. It was the Canucks who were hemmed in their end for most of the last 5 minutes of the game, right? How many opportunities did they have to get the puck out and couldn't/didn't? I'll take a .966 save % every game from the goalie -- whoever he is.

Does anyone have any thoughts on former 1st rounder Pierre-Marc Bouchard? The islanders placed him on Waivers today. He makes 2m a year and was a stalwart for the Wild for 7 or 8 seasons.

Only once has he cracked 20 Goals but he was on the Wild where goals were pretty rare in their D-first strategy.

Anyways, is he an upgrade?

We have enough projects on this team. I'd rather see Grenier get a look.

I doubt he'd help us out in any meaningful way but will chew up cap room. Pass.

If the canucks wanted a small, soft, fast forward, they would have resigned mason raymond

Both Shnieds and Lou were guilty of that. Although I agree with you, I wonder if you compare that with Goalies, would they be close?

DING! --- Good Answer. But he is a Centreman. 3rd or 4th line guy.

Then again --- if both the Wild and Islanders took a pass on the guy... maybe that tells you all you need to know.

I think we should trade Edler so we can get two actual top six lines that can score!!! No more small guys, I don't like small guys…as a general rule.

Edler & Hansen for ROR ----> then trade ROR for Evander Kane?

Dany Hank Burr
Kane Santo Kesler
